Pete delivers a compelling and emotional first novel. For someone who has written a lot of academic and technical papers, he has a remarkable way with words. It's a remarkable first novel and I look forward to his future work.
A very powerful and insightful read. I couldn't put it down as I had to see what happened next. Female perpetration in domestic violence is a subject that is often ignored, not believed or discounted and Pete Harvey deals with it bravely and honestly, weaving in the bigger picture of a country that has also suffered terrible violence . He uncovers hidden traumas but also offers a ray of hope that ultimately the human spirit can overcome adversity.
